Alshaya Group Partnership with ITIDA to Boost Egypt’s Digital Economy

Alshaya Group has signed an MoU with ITIDA to strengthen Egypt’s digital economy through collaboration in IT services, R&D, and talent development. The deal supports the Kingdom’s expansion and Egypt’s digital transformation.

Alshaya Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) during the first Global Offshoring Summit, held under the patronage of Egypt’s Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly.

The agreement aims to advance Egypt’s digital transformation and enhance Alshaya’s investments in the country’s information technology and shared services sectors.

Under the MoU, both parties will collaborate across operations management, IT services, knowledge and engineering services, and research and development. A major focus will be on building digital capabilities and developing local talent. The partnership also includes cooperation on ITIDA’s “IT Skills” portal to facilitate recruitment, training, and career growth for Egyptian professionals supporting Alshaya’s regional operations.

“Egypt is a key strategic partner in our regional expansion, and we are delighted to strengthen our collaboration with ITIDA through this agreement,” said John Hadden, CEO of Alshaya Group. “This milestone marks an important step toward enhancing our shared services and nurturing exceptional Egyptian talent in technology and operations.”

Representatives from ITIDA noted that the partnership reflects growing international confidence in Egypt’s business environment and local workforce. They reaffirmed ITIDA’s commitment to supporting Alshaya Group’s digital transformation and regional expansion.

Alshaya Group established its Contact and Technology Services Centre in Cairo in late 2024, which now supports operations across 16 regional markets. The company plans to expand the centre over the next two years, creating around 400 new jobs for Egyptian nationals.

Since entering the Egyptian market in 2006, Alshaya Group has managed several international retail brands, including H&M, Starbucks, Bath & Body Works, Victoria’s Secret, and American Eagle.

The new agreement further underscores Alshaya’s commitment to Egypt’s vision of becoming a regional hub for shared services and technology innovation.
