Comera partners with SC Ventures to expand SME fintech solutions in the UAE, strengthening digital finance infrastructure and supporting MENA’s innovation-driven growth.
Comera is strengthening its position in the UAE’s fintech landscape through a new strategic partnership with SC Ventures, the venture-building arm backed by Standard Chartered. The collaboration aims to accelerate the development of advanced financial solutions tailored to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), a segment central to the UAE’s economic diversification agenda.

The partnership, formalized through a memorandum of understanding, will explore the co-creation of digital financial infrastructure designed to address persistent SME challenges such as access to working capital, supply chain finance inefficiencies, and limited credit intelligence. Comera, part of Abu Dhabi-based Royal Group, will deploy its growing portfolio of fintech platforms, while SC Ventures brings venture-building expertise and data-driven credit capabilities.
At its core, the collaboration reflects a broader shift in the UAE and wider MENA region toward fintech-enabled SME support models that move beyond traditional lending. As regional governments push for private-sector growth and innovation-led economies, SMEs are increasingly seen as the backbone—but one that still lacks adequate financial tools.
Akhtar Saeed Hashmi, Group CEO of Comera, said the partnership represents a step forward in building resilient, future-ready financial infrastructure for SMEs. He noted that smarter, more adaptive financial systems are critical for businesses operating in fast-changing markets.
SC Ventures CEO Alex Manson echoed the focus on practical impact, highlighting the firm’s commitment to ventures that solve real economic problems. He said the partnership with Comera enables the development of scalable digital solutions that can help SMEs compete and grow in innovation-driven economies such as the UAE.
Comera operates across payments, digital lending, supply chain finance, and embedded financial infrastructure, positioning itself at the intersection of fintech and enterprise needs. SC Ventures, meanwhile, specializes in building and investing in ventures that rethink the future of financial services.
Why the Comera Partnership with SC Ventures Matters to MENA
Beyond the UAE, the partnership signals wider implications for the MENA region, where SMEs across Saudi Arabia, North Africa, and emerging markets face similar structural financing gaps. If successful, Comera’s collaboration with SC Ventures could serve as a blueprint for SME fintech models scalable across multiple markets.
As fintech becomes a core enabler of economic resilience in MENA, Comera is increasingly positioning itself not just as a service provider, but as a foundational player in shaping the region’s SME financial ecosystem.
