
GITEX AFRICA Morocco 2025 has officially opened in Marrakech, transforming the city into a buzzing hub for tech innovation, global partnerships, and digital transformation.
Held under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the event is backed by the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, in collaboration with the Digital Development Agency (ADD), and organised by KAOUN International, the global events arm of Dubai World Trade Centre.
Running through April 16, the show has drawn 1,450 exhibitors, 350 international investors, 650 speakers, and tech leaders from over 130 countries, all converging to shape the future of Africa’s digital economy.
Her Excellency Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, Morocco’s Minister of Digital Transition, kicked off the event, highlighting the Kingdom’s digital vision and commitment to AI-driven progress:
“GITEX AFRICA affirms the growing importance of the digital economy, which represents today 15 per cent of global GDP, or some $6.5 trillion. Africa is on its way to becoming a global digital laboratory.”
Opening remarks also featured UAE cybersecurity chief H.E. Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti and Chakib Alj, President of CGEM, emphasizing the cross-border collaboration powering this regional tech renaissance.

From AI and cybersecurity to agritech, mobility, and edutech, this year’s edition expands beyond traditional tech topics to explore new industries and cross-continental participation, including countries like Belgium, Niger, Uzbekistan, and Zambia.
Mohammed Drissi Melyani, Director General of ADD, said the show has evolved into more than a tech expo. It’s now a strategic force for digital inclusion and sustainable transformation.
His words, “It is no longer just an occasion to showcase the latest innovations… but a strategic place to strengthen digital inclusion between African countries, to build bridges of cooperation… and to accelerate the pace of sustainable digital transformation.”
Trixie LohMirmand, CEO of KAOUN International, underlined the event’s growing impact, “This event has evolved into a powerful platform driving Africa’s digital future… Morocco is positioning itself as a hub for an incredible transformation across the continent.”
