Saudi Arabia’s national AI company Humain, created by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), is preparing to launch ALLaM 34B, a new Arabic-centric foundation model.
The rollout is set for end of August and will debut as part of the Humain Chat application suite, making it directly accessible to the public.
Unlike general-purpose models, ALLaM 34B has been trained and fine-tuned specifically for Arabic language and culture, with a strong focus on Saudi contexts.
The model was developed by a team of 40 PhD researchers using proprietary datasets collected in the Kingdom.
HUMAIN: Building Saudi’s AI Value Chain
Formed in May, the company consolidates the expertise of the Saudi Company for AI (SCAI), SDAIA’s model development team, Aramco Digital, and Tonomus.
Its mandate extends beyond language models to cover next-generation data centres, advanced AI infrastructure, and AI-native platforms for sovereign, enterprise, and global research clients.
Earlier this year, the company outlined plans to build Saudi Arabia’s full AI value chain, with Arabic large language models at the heart of the strategy.
By launching ALLaM 34B, Humain signals the Kingdom’s ambition to become not just a regional hub, but a global leader in culturally rooted generative AI.
