Keeta Launches KeeShare for Ramadan In-App Meal Donations UAE

Keeta launches KeeShare in the UAE, allowing customers to donate meals during Ramadan directly through its app in partnership with over 1,200 restaurants.

Keeta, the UAE-based food delivery platform backed by Meituan, has launched a Ramadan initiative that allows customers to donate meals directly through its app.

The feature, called KeeShare, enables users to add an extra meal to their order between 5 pm and 5 am throughout the holy month. The additional meal is prepared by the participating restaurant and handed to the delivery rider at pickup, integrating the donation seamlessly into the ordering process.

More than 1,200 restaurants across the UAE are participating in the program, including Maraheb, Laffah, Papa John’s Pizza, Zaatar W Zeit, Texas Chicken, and Burger King. The donated meal is processed as part of the same transaction, eliminating the need for additional steps for customers.

Keeta said the initiative is designed to connect customers, merchants and riders through small acts of giving during Ramadan. By embedding the feature within the app’s standard checkout flow, the company aims to simplify charitable participation without requiring separate coordination.

Keeta operates as a technology-driven marketplace linking consumers with food and retail merchants and independent couriers. The platform is backed by Meituan, the Hong Kong-listed technology company behind China’s food delivery service Meituan Waimai.

The rollout comes as competition intensifies in the UAE’s fast-growing food delivery sector, where platforms are increasingly experimenting with value-added features beyond discounts and promotions. KeeShare reflects a broader trend of integrating social initiatives into digital commerce ecosystems during peak seasonal periods.

Whether the feature remains seasonal or evolves into a permanent offering, it highlights how regional platforms are adapting their technology stacks to incorporate community-focused engagement alongside transactional growth.
