According to UNICEF, an estimated 240 million children globally live with disabilities, many of whom face barriers to education. Key2Enable’s Chief Strategy Officer, Indranil Chatterjee, emphasized that the company’s mission goes beyond charity.
“No matter what, people will never stop sending their kids to schools,” Chatterjee said, adding that “special education is a blue ocean market for us.”
The startup’s flagship innovation, Literacy Labs, offers specialized classrooms equipped with 10 workstations, smart TVs, proprietary learning tools, and dedicated training for teachers, priced at around $50,000 per room.
So far, 20 Literacy Labs have launched in Portugal, 10 in Turkey, and four in the UAE, in collaboration with various government agencies.
Key2Enable’s next step is to franchise the Literacy Labs model, shifting from one-off sales to a recurring-revenue system. The company’s commercial rollout is set for Q2 2026, with franchise packages that include monthly commitments for sustained growth.
“That ensures your pipeline and your recurring revenue,” Chatterjee explained.
By introducing a scalable franchise system, Key2Enable aims to redefine how technology supports special-needs education from the Gulf to global markets.
