Khazna Launches First 200MW Data Centre in Saudi Arabia

Khazna enters Saudi Arabia with a 200MW AI-ready data centre in Dammam, accelerating regional cloud and hyperscale growth across the Gulf.

Khazna Data Centers, the UAE’s largest data centre operator, has officially entered the Saudi market with plans to build its first high-capacity facility in the kingdom. The company announced that it has secured a 225,000-square-foot plot in the Eastern Province to develop a 200-megawatt (MW) data centre, positioning it to serve rapidly growing cloud, AI and hyperscale workloads in the region.

The upcoming Dammam data centre will be built using modular architecture, enabling the company to scale infrastructure quickly in response to rising digital demand. The company noted that the facility will support next-generation AI compute, advanced cloud hosting and regional hyperscale deployments.

The company also appointed Mohammed bin Hassan as its Country Head for Saudi Arabia. He will oversee the Dammam project and lead wider expansion efforts across the kingdom.

Khazna currently operates 30 live data centres with a combined capacity of nearly 650MW, making it one of the region’s largest digital infrastructure providers. It is also working to deliver over 1 gigawatt of additional AI-ready capacity across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Italy and other major markets.

In September, the company secured a $2.62 billion credit facility to support its regional and international growth ambitions.

Khazna has been expanding through high-profile international partnerships. In July, it signed an agreement with Italian energy giant Eni to develop a 500MW AI data campus in northern Italy jointly.

Earlier this year, UAE technology investment firm MGX and US private equity company Silver Lake acquired a minority stake in Khazna, further solidifying its financial backing and long-term growth strategy.

Why Khazna Move Matters for the MENA Region

Khazna’s entry into Saudi Arabia signals a new phase of Gulf data-infrastructure collaboration, driven heavily by AI demand. With Saudi Arabia rapidly scaling its cloud and hyperscale ambitions under Vision 2030, Khazna’s arrival:

  • Expands the region’s AI compute capacity
  • Strengthens cross-border tech investment between the UAE and KSA
  • Supports local and global hyperscalers who are racing to deploy AI workloads
  • Increases regional competitiveness in the Global Digital Economy

For MENA startups, digital-first businesses, and AI builders, the additional capacity means lower latency, improved reliability, and stronger market opportunities across the Gulf.
