The Qatar News Agency (QNA) has been recognized for its innovative use of artificial intelligence (AI) at Microsoft’s exclusive event, “Leading the Era of AI.” The award was presented on Tuesday by HE Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai to QNA Director-General Ahmed bin Saeed Al Rumaihi, in a ceremony attended by officials, government representatives, industry experts, and key Microsoft partners.
QNA received the award for its pioneering achievements in leveraging AI to enhance digital transformation in media, particularly through its “audio and video analysis system.” This AI-driven program converts recorded audio and video into written text, demonstrating QNA’s commitment to modern technology.
HE Al Rumaihi expressed gratitude for the Ministry’s support in advancing digital transformation across various sectors, emphasizing the importance of adopting cutting-edge technologies to improve services and the work environment. He highlighted the Minister’s dedication to keeping governmental institutions aligned with the latest information and communications technology, ensuring Qatar remains a leader in digital innovation.
He also noted that QNA’s recognition reflects its proactive approach to integrating modern technologies to enhance media services, particularly in electronic media.
