The acquisition strengthens Qualiphi’s ambition to build what it describes as the region’s first AI-powered Career Services Management platform. This unified system enables universities to manage career programs, connect students with job opportunities, and provide guidance through a single digital interface.
Originally developed by iCareer, Career Club is one of the region’s early virtual career center platforms, designed to bridge the gap between education and employment. The platform has supported initiatives in collaboration with global organizations such as the International Labour Organization, UK Aid, and GIZ, helping students build skills and access career opportunities.
By integrating Career Club into its ecosystem, Qualiphi is expanding its capabilities at a time when demand for structured career support is rising. According to Egypt’s CAPMAS, the number of higher education graduates reached 743,000 in 2024, reflecting a growing pipeline of talent entering an increasingly competitive job market.
Nevien Magdy, Founder and CEO of Qualiphi, described the acquisition as a step toward building a regional platform for AI-driven career enablement, connecting universities, employers, and career centers in a single ecosystem. She noted that the integration will enable expanded services, including career guidance, skills development, CV optimization, and digital career events.
Qualiphi already works with major institutions across Egypt and Saudi Arabia, including the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Ain Shams University, Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, and Universities of Canada. In 2025 alone, the platform supported more than 500,000 students in Egypt, while its Gulf partnerships reached over 7,000 students across multiple nationalities.
Looking ahead, the company plans to onboard 15 additional universities in Egypt by 2026 and expand further across GCC markets, despite the challenges of navigating different regulatory frameworks and education systems.
Akram Marwan, CEO of iCareer, said Career Club was built to connect graduates with the labor market and expressed confidence that Qualiphi will scale its impact across the region.
Why Qualiphi Matters to MENA
The acquisition highlights a growing shift toward digitizing career services and employability infrastructure across MENA. As youth populations expand and graduate numbers rise, universities are under increasing pressure to provide structured, tech-enabled pathways into the workforce.
Platforms like Qualiphi could play a critical role in addressing the region’s skills-to-jobs gap, using AI to match talent with opportunities, streamline career support services, and improve employment outcomes.
More broadly, this move signals the emergence of edtech-meets-HRtech platforms tailored to local markets, an area that remains underdeveloped but increasingly important for the region’s economic growth.
