Saudi Edtech Taawoni Raises $1.6M to Boost AI Training

Saudi Arabia-based edtech startup Taawoni has secured $1.6 million in fresh funding, led by M Capital alongside a network of regional education and tech-focused investors. The funding will help scale the company’s operations within the Kingdom and expand across MENA markets.

Taawoni’s platform, known for automating cooperative training programs, connects Saudi universities with both public and private sector organizations, effectively bridging the gap between academia and industry.

The startup also runs a comprehensive, AI-powered professional development platform that offers upskilling pathways for local talent, a key area of focus in alignment with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.

So far, the platform has supported over 34,000 learners through partnerships with more than 800 companies and 14 universities across the country.

The funding will go toward enhancing Taawouni’s tech stack, improving platform UX, and growing its institutional partnerships.

“Our goal is to empower young Saudis with smarter pathways to employment and lifelong learning. This investment strengthens our ability to deliver on that promise,” said the company in a statement.

The edtech market in Saudi Arabia continues to gain momentum, particularly as AI and digital transformation become central pillars in the region’s human capital strategy.

Taawoni is positioning itself as a critical enabler in this space, offering scalable solutions for universities and employers looking to bridge skills gaps and future-proof the workforce.

With local backing and Vision 2030 alignment, Taawoni is now well-funded to push its AI-first learning model across more sectors and geographies, all while keeping its roots firmly in Saudi innovation.
