Spiritus Secures $30M in Series A Funding

Spiritus, a U.S.-based company specializing in Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology, has successfully raised $30 million in a Series A funding round.

The round was led by Aramco Ventures, with additional investments from Khosla Ventures, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, and TDK Ventures.

Originally headquartered in Los Alamos, New Mexico, the company is accelerating the development of three key facilities aimed at proving the feasibility of large-scale carbon capture and removal.

Spiritus leverages cutting-edge carbon capture and storage solutions through its proprietary systems: the Sorbent and Carbon Orchard.

These advanced technologies enable cost-effective and scalable carbon removal solutions.

According to sources familiar with the matter, this partnership with Aramco Ventures represents a strategic step in exporting U.S. technology and expanding its global presence.

It will further support the development and deployment of carbon capture solutions in Saudi Arabia, contributing to the nation’s efforts to achieve carbon neutrality and reduce emissions.
