The new platform delivers a pre-validated AI infrastructure stack designed to shorten the time from installation to production, combining compute, storage and software into a single enterprise-ready system.
At the core of CNode-X is the VAST AI Operating System, which includes VAST InsightEngine and VAST DataBase. The platform integrates NVIDIA open models, microservices and software libraries with Supermicro’s GPU-accelerated compute and storage servers.
The result is an end-to-end AI infrastructure designed to support generative AI, real-time analytics and large-scale inference workloads without requiring complex custom integration.
Charles Liang, President and CEO of Supermicro, said the solution builds on the company’s existing collaboration by unifying high-performance AI systems, advanced data software and GPU acceleration into a single deployable platform. The goal, he said, is to help enterprises scale AI initiatives with greater speed and operational confidence.
John Mao, Vice President of Global Technology Alliances at VAST Data, added that the platform is engineered to ensure GPUs remain continuously supplied with data, reducing bottlenecks and accelerating time to first inference.
CNode-X expands on Supermicro’s EBox platform introduced in 2024, known for its space, power and cost efficiency. The second-generation EBox now incorporates AMD EPYC™ 9005 processors and serves as the validated storage foundation for the AI data platform.
Aligned with the NVIDIA AI Data Platform reference architecture, CNode-X integrates GPU acceleration to enhance vector database search, data vectorization and AI inference performance.
The solution combines Supermicro’s CloudDC AS-1116CS-TN storage system with the SYS-212GB-FNR 2U multi-GPU compute server, supporting NVIDIA RTX PRO™ 6000 Blackwell Server Edition GPUs in a compact footprint.
Beyond hardware integration, the platform includes pre-configured AI workflows tailored for enterprise generative AI and real-time AI agents. It can also function as a storage layer within larger AI factory deployments when paired with Supermicro’s HGX-based GPU servers and advanced liquid cooling systems.
To streamline enterprise adoption, Supermicro provides rack-level integration, factory validation, on-site installation and lifecycle management through its SuperCloud Suite, offering centralized monitoring and infrastructure control.
CNode-X was officially unveiled at the VAST Forward conference in Salt Lake City from February 24 to 26.
Why Supermicro and VAST Partnership Matter to MENA
This launch is especially relevant to the Gulf and wider MENA region for several reasons: Countries like the UAE and Saudi Arabia are investing billions in AI-ready data centres. Turnkey platforms like CNode-X reduce deployment timelines for enterprises building local AI factories.
Many MENA enterprises are shifting from AI experimentation to production workloads. Pre-validated infrastructure lowers integration risk and accelerates commercialization. Governments and regulated sectors (finance, energy, public services) increasingly require AI systems to run locally. Compact, GPU-dense systems make on-premise AI deployment more feasible.
With NVIDIA-based reference architectures embedded in the platform, the solution aligns with the broader hyperscale ecosystem already expanding across the Gulf.
In short, platforms like CNode-X support the infrastructure backbone required for MENA’s AI ambitions — particularly as the region races to become a global AI hub.
