Suplyd Raises $2M to Digitize Egypt’s HORECA Supply Chain

Cairo-based restaurant procurement startup Suplyd has raised $2 million in pre-Series A funding to expand its platform and lay the groundwork for a full-stack supply chain infrastructure serving Egypt’s $10 billion HORECA (Hotel, Restaurant, Café) market.

The round was co-led by 4DX Ventures, Camel Ventures, and Plus VC, with participation from Seedstars and existing investors.

Launched in 2022, Suplyd set out to address critical pain points in Egypt’s restaurant industry, unreliable suppliers, late deliveries, and lack of transparency in procurement.

Its B2B platform now connects over 5,000 restaurants directly with suppliers, streamlining ordering, delivery tracking, and inventory management.

Since its $1.6 million pre-seed round, the firm has achieved 20x growth, becoming a crucial layer in Egypt’s food and beverage ecosystem.

“Over the past four years, we’ve built Suplyd into a critical part of Egypt’s restaurant ecosystem,” said Gohar Said, the Founder and CEO.

“What started as a bold idea is now powering thousands of restaurants every day. We didn’t just witness the industry’s digital transformation—we helped lead it.”

Suplyd’s dashboard allows restaurants to order everything from fresh ingredients to kitchen supplies, with features like real-time analytics, waste reduction tools, and inventory control. The platform’s next phase includes expanding across Egypt and launching new service verticals to improve backend efficiency.

Investors are bullish on Suplyd’s role in modernising the region’s F&B infrastructure.

“Suplyd’s platform serves the long tail of restaurants that are often overlooked,” said Peter Orth, Partner at 4DX Ventures. “Their early traction and diversified revenue model reinforced our conviction.”

Hasan Haider, Managing Partner at Plus VC, added: “Suplyd has become a key enabler in the digital transformation of Egypt’s F&B sector. Their strong traction over the past four years reflects the team’s deep market insight and operational excellence.”

With fresh capital in hand, this startup isn’t just digitizing procurement, it’s positioning itself as the underlying operating system for restaurants, from supply chain management to kitchen efficiency.
