The program will provide cash investments of up to $28,700 (EGP 1.5 million) for each selected startup, alongside mentorship, operational support, and access to regional networks. In its first Cairo cohort, VMS plans to invest in seven startups.
Founded in 2022, Value Makers Studio operates as a venture studio focused on building and scaling startups across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) while also helping international founders enter the Saudi market.
Motaz Abuonq, CEO of Value Makers Studio, said Egypt’s startup ecosystem continues to produce founders building scalable businesses with regional potential.
According to Abuonq, the accelerator aims to provide the capital, mentorship, and market access needed for Egyptian startups to expand into Saudi Arabia, one of the region’s fastest-growing startup markets.
The program targets Seed and Seed+ stage startups with scalable business models and ambitions to expand beyond their local markets. In addition to funding, participating founders will receive guidance to refine their growth strategies, strengthen business fundamentals, and prepare for future fundraising rounds.
VMS Accelerate will combine structured training sessions with exposure to regional investors, corporate partners, and ecosystem players. The initiative is designed to act as a bridge between the Egyptian and Saudi startup ecosystems, helping founders build partnerships and explore market entry opportunities in the Kingdom.
Why VMS Accelerator Matters to MENA
The launch highlights the increasing cross-border collaboration between Egypt and Saudi Arabia’s startup ecosystems. Egypt remains one of the region’s largest hubs for early-stage startups, while Saudi Arabia is rapidly emerging as a major destination for venture capital and startup expansion.
Accelerator programs like VMS Accelerate are helping founders transition from local growth to regional scale, connecting Egyptian startups with Saudi investors, corporates, and market opportunities. This type of ecosystem bridge could play a key role in strengthening startup activity across the wider MENA region.
