The influence of the summit extends beyond the event itself. According to Crunchbase data, 82 startups from the 2024 Web Summit Qatar Startup Programme collectively raised $120 million in the past 12 months, proving that this platform fuels real business growth.

AI-Powered Networking & Qatar’s Investment Game Plan

One of the standout features of this year’s summit was the integration of Web Summit’s proprietary Summit Engine software, an AI-powered recommender system that facilitated over 120 curated meetups. These included specialized discussions on Women in Sustainability, Cybersecurity, and AI CEOs, ensuring meaningful connections between industry leaders and emerging innovators.

Meanwhile, Qatar continues to make bold moves in the investment space. The Qatar Investment Authority’s $1 billion Fund of Funds program, which celebrated its first anniversary at the summit, announced new partnerships with B Capital and Deerfield to advance fintech, healthcare, AI, and clean energy innovations.
