Basata Teams Up with Connect Money to Boost Egypt’s Digital Payment

Basata Holding for Financial Payments, a prominent fintech player, has teamed up with Connect Money to launch the Basata Card, aiming to enhance digital payment solutions across Egypt.

This collaboration is designed to deliver secure, flexible financial services to both consumers and merchants, while also supporting the country’s shift toward a cashless economy. The initiative aligns with Basata’s broader plan to expand its digital offerings and introduce new service features in the near future.

The company is placing a strong emphasis on improving user experience and reinforcing the digital payments ecosystem within Egypt. With the new card, users will be able to easily withdraw cash from any ATM in the country and make secure purchases both online and in-store.

The card also supports instant peer-to-peer money transfers, enabling fast and smooth transactions. For added security, users have the option to instantly deactivate their card if it’s lost or stolen, ensuring their money remains protected.

Karim Shehata, CEO of Basata, highlighted that the new solution reflects the company’s ongoing mission to create a more streamlined and accessible digital payment environment. “We are committed to innovation that benefits both consumers and businesses, driving financial inclusion and supporting Egypt’s digital transformation,” he said.

He also emphasized that the Basata Card is a major step toward that goal, offering practical tools to support business growth and economic sustainability.

The Basata Card is available at all Basata branches nationwide. Currently, the company provides over 2,000 financial services through its expansive network of 150,000+ active points of sale and digital wallets across Egypt.
