1Kosmos Eyes Middle East Expansion After $57M Raise

US-based cybersecurity startup 1Kosmos is setting its sights on the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) after securing USD 57 million in Series B funding.

The round included a USD 10 million line of credit from Bridge Bank and was led by Forgepoint Capital and Origami’s Oquirrh Ventures, with participation from Carahsoft founder Craig Abod, NextEra Energy Ventures, and Gula Tech Adventures.

The company, known for its identity-first security approach, plans to open new offices in the Middle East as part of a broader global expansion strategy.

1Kosmos provides remote identity verification and passwordless multi-factor authentication, helping enterprises, governments, and consumers prevent identity fraud, account takeovers, and phishing attacks.

1Kosmos: Meeting Rising Cybersecurity Demand in MENA

As the MENA region ramps up digital transformation, cybersecurity threats—particularly impersonation-based attacks—are growing more sophisticated.

1Kosmos’ technology uses live biometrics, verified identity, and phishing-resistant authentication to address these risks. “Identity has become the first step in the kill chain,” said CEO Hemen Vimadalal.

“This investment allows us to strengthen the proactive controls organizations need to prevent impersonation-based attacks.”

Building a Regional Footprint

The Middle East push is part of a wider scale-up effort that includes increasing direct and channel sales across Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific, as well as deepening integrations with IAM, CIAM, PAM, and zero trust platforms.

Ernie Bio, Managing Director at Forgepoint Capital, said the funding reinforces 1Kosmos’ mission of empowering individuals with secure, user-controlled digital identities, a growing need in fast-digitizing economies like those in the Gulf.

Founded to bridge the gap between security and user convenience, 1Kosmos is positioning itself to become a key player in MENA’s evolving identity and access management market.
