DIMDEX 2024 was inaugurated this week at the Qatar National Convention Centre by Qatar’s Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, under the patronage of Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
DIMDEX 2024, focused on security and defense, features over 200 companies and nine prominent international pavilions. The event runs until March 6 and showcases the latest innovations in defense technology, maritime security, and related services across seven halls spanning more than 35,000 square meters, including an outdoor exhibition area.
The opening ceremony was attended by ministers, defense officials, chiefs of staff from allied nations, ambassadors, senior officers from the Qatari Armed Forces, and maritime security experts. It included a documentary film about the Qatari Armed Forces and a tour of the exhibition highlighting state-of-the-art technologies in maritime security and defense.
The United States unveiled the largest pavilion at DIMDEX this year, featuring 16 exhibitors. Many of the showcased products are land and air components designed to protect maritime assets.
At the opening of the USA Partnership Pavilion, Natalie Baker, Chargé d’Affaires of the US embassy in Doha, stated, “The 16 American exhibitors at this year’s largest DIMDEX pavilion reflect the strong US-Qatar security partnership.
