MoEHE Honors Qatar’s ITEX and ISAF Winners from Malaysia and the US

In collaboration with the Qatar Research, Development, and Innovation Council (QRDI Council), the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) honored Qatar’s winners from the International Exhibition for Innovation, Invention, and Technology (ITEX), held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in mid-May. The Ministry also recognized students who excelled at the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in the United States from May 11-18.

The honoring ceremony featured HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, QRDI Council Secretary General Eng. Omar Al Ansari, along with ministry officials, school principals, supervisors, students, and their parents. A short film showcasing the students’ experiences and achievements abroad was screened during the event.

Upgrade

Winners were honored by the Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs at MoEHE Maha Al Ruwaili and the Director of Educational Programs at QRDI Council Dr. Abdullah Al Kamali. At ITEX, Qatari students won a total of 12 medals: 10 gold and two silver.

At ISAF, the Qatar Technical Science Secondary School for Girls received a special award from Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Honor Society, for its research in earth and environmental sciences, titled “Identifying New Sponge Species From Qatar Marine Environment Using Molecular Techniques.”
