Qatar Airways Reach New Height in Travel

In a bid to embrace new and emerging technologies, Qatar Airways took to the skies in April 2022 with its QVerse digital platform. Presently, and with more environment, tech and interactive features, the only way is up.

The shift to digital driving changes in how travelers are looking for and booking travel experiences has put the travel and tourism industry through a transformative period of change. In response to this shift, Qatar Airways has embraced an innovation-first approach to redefine the future of travel.

That vision is realized through QVerse, an immersive and interactive virtual platform that allows users to experience the complete journey from Hamad International Airport to the aircraft. This virtual tour lets customers explore every step of their travel experience, including lounges and the plane itself, all from the comfort of their homes before they board.

Babar Rahman, Vice President of Marketing at Qatar Airways, while explaining the purpose of the innovation, said “We’ve essentially created a digital twin of the physical journey available on the ground and onboard.”

He went further to add that “The Purpose of Qverse is to allow anyone to virtually step into the cabin to get a sense of what it’s like when flying with Qatar Airways to be able to make informed decisions about the airline they will be traveling with and the quality of services they will experience.”

At the core of the Qverse marketing strategy is a focus on the user aiming to innovate through new and emerging technologies in a genuinely helpful way. By recreating the exact physical journey passengers will experience with Qatar Airways, Qverse aims to remove any barriers to flying.

Rahman, while emphasizing the purpose of Qverse said “Passengers want to know what their experience will be like, but they can’t fully grasp it until they are actually on the aircraft. Our goal is to democratize the travel experience by providing a clear preview of what their journey will look like.”

Speaking on the benefit of Qverse, Rahman said, “This is more than just technology for the sake of technology, we’re shifting towards something more useful for users and will benefit them to find out what their journey will be like and the kind of amenities they can enjoy when they travel with us.”
Another advantage of Qverse is its availability in 13 languages, making it accessible to users worldwide. This inclusivity ensures that travelers from various regions can comfortably plan their trips. Qverse is accessible both on the web and via smartphones, enhancing its convenience.
