

Qatar, through the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), has announced that it will host the Mobile World Congress (MWC) Doha for five consecutive years, making history as the first country in the Middle East and North Africa to do so.
Minister of Communications and Information Technology H.E. Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai and GSMA CEO John Hoffman signed the official agreement during a ceremony at Mobile World Congress 2025 in Barcelona.
Minister Al Mannai highlighted the event’s significance as a global platform for fostering collaboration and exchanging expertise among industry leaders. He emphasized that hosting the Mobile World Congress Doha aligns with Qatar’s commitment to digital transformation and strengthens its position as a global leader in digital innovation, which is in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030.
“Bringing MWC Doha to the region for the first time underscores our dedication to advancing digital solutions and reinforcing Qatar’s leadership in the ICT sector. This opportunity will not only attract investments but also support the execution of the Digital Agenda 2030. The event will facilitate partnerships among top industry players, paving the way for innovation and growth,” he stated.
Set to take place on November 25-26, 2025, the inaugural edition of MWC Doha will showcase advancements in mobile technology, artificial intelligence, fintech, and smart connectivity. Key discussions will focus on digital inclusion, sustainability, and emerging technologies, providing a crucial space for industry collaboration and knowledge sharing.
GSMA CEO John Hoffman expressed enthusiasm about the event, stating, “We are thrilled to introduce MWC25 Doha as part of our global MWC series. Our vision is for this event to play a pivotal role in positioning Qatar as a major hub for digital innovation, highlighting the Middle East’s transformation in AI, 5G, and smart mobility.”
