QSTP Becomes Diamond Partner at Web Summit 2024

Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP) has announced its participation as a diamond event partner at the inaugural Web Summit Qatar 2024, set to be the region’s premier edition of the world’s largest technology conference.

Scheduled to run from February 26 to 29, 2024, at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC), the summit is expected to draw over 12,000 entrepreneurs, investors, and tech enthusiasts worldwide.

As a diamond event partner, QSTP will feature prominently at the conference with a dedicated pavilion that will showcase its extensive suite of acceleration, incubation, funding, and investment programs tailored for tech startups. The QSTP Pavilion aims to highlight the park’s pivotal role in nurturing Qatar’s innovation ecosystem and supporting aspiring tech entrepreneurs in developing advanced products and services.

Among the highlights at the QSTP Pavilion will be presentations from several QSTP-supported startups, including Bonocle, Viavii, Classtap, and Skystruct. These startups will demonstrate their innovative tech solutions, offering visitors a glimpse into the pioneering work being done within Qatar’s expanding tech sector.

On February 27, the pavilion will host the Demo Day for Cycle 14 of QSTP’s flagship XLR8 program. Running from 4 to 6 p.m., Demo Day will feature pitches from emerging tech innovators who have completed a 10-week training and mentorship program. This event provides a platform for participants to present their ideas to potential investors and take critical steps toward launching their startups.

In addition to the pavilion, QSTP will host a Startup Island at the summit, featuring several other startups from its ecosystem, such as Kanari.AI, Kamkalima, and Gamyra. This area will allow attendees to explore various innovative products and services from Qatar’s tech community.

Notably, four QSTP-supported startups—EMMA Systems, VFarms, Wqtah, and Armony—have been selected to compete in the Web Summit Qatar PITCH competition. This prestigious event will showcase early-stage startups in a live onstage battle, with the top eight from the group stages moving on to the semi-final on February 28, and the final round scheduled for February 29.

Essa Al Jamali, QSTP’s Relationship Manager, excited about the event, said, “QSTP is thrilled to be a key player in the first Web Summit in the region. This event offers a significant opportunity for local startups to engage with global tech leaders and investors. We are particularly excited for our startups to shine in the PITCH competition and to represent Qatar’s innovative spirit.”

Additionally, QSTP Program Manager – Acceleration, Mohammad Zebian, will lead a masterclass titled ‘Crafting the Perfect Pitch’ on February 28 at 1 p.m. This session will focus on refining value propositions, creating effective marketing campaigns, and leveraging AI to connect with investors.

Attendees are invited to visit QSTP’s pavilion, booth number E218, and the Startup Island to explore the full range of offerings and interact with QSTP-supported startups. The Demo Day and other activities at the summit promise to be key highlights for those interested in the latest advancements in technology and innovation.
