Sawtify, a Tunisian AI startup, is advancing Arabic speech recognition with localized models, transforming voice tech across North Africa. 

Tunis-based AI startup Sawtify has secured a prestigious international award at a premier Paris tech conference for its groundbreaking speech recognition technology. The startup specializes in a high-precision AI engine designed to transcribe and translate complex North African Arabic dialects (Darija) into Standard Arabic and French.

While global speech-to-text tools frequently struggle with the linguistic nuances of Tunisian, Algerian, and Moroccan dialects, its deep learning model leverages thousands of hours of local media data to ensure accuracy. By training on diverse audio sources from radio, TV, and social media, the platform enables seamless communication across the Maghreb. 

This deep-tech innovation serves critical functions: enhancing digital accessibility for the hearing impaired, automating customer service for regional enterprises, and preserving cultural heritage. Currently, the startup is partnering with Tunisian government agencies to digitize historical audio archives.
