Start IT Expands Support for Egypt’s Startup Ecosystem

Egypt’s AI-driven innovation scene received a fresh boost as the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC), part of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), welcomed its 47th batch of tech startups into the Start IT program,

The program is a one-year incubation journey designed to transform ICT-based ideas and prototypes into scalable, investment-ready ventures.

The latest cohort underscores ITIDA’s long-term commitment to nurturing a sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem, empowering young innovators, and accelerating the growth of early-stage technology businesses across the country.

The program’s kickoff featured a networking session that brought together newcomers and alumni from previous rounds, sparking collaborations, peer learning, and the exchange of hard-won insights.

Start IT: Bigger Package, Bigger Ambitions

In a significant policy shift, ITIDA has expanded its incubation package, increasing total startup support from EGP 180,000 to EGP 480,000. The new package combines financial grants with in-kind services, helping startups move faster through critical development milestones.

Cloud infrastructure support has also been upgraded, Amazon Web Services (AWS) now provides each startup with USD 10,000 in credits, doubling the previous allocation and equipping teams with access to enterprise-grade cloud tools.

Another notable addition is Start IT Perks, an exclusive platform offering discounted access to premium digital tools and services from partners such as Talents Arena, Sprints, The WhiteGuard, Qayedeny, Camion, Techie Matter, DevisionX, and Zurqa.

These partnerships aim to lower operational costs, streamline processes, and enable rapid scaling.

From Health-Tech to Handmade Décor

The eight newly incubated startups reflect Egypt’s diverse and fast-evolving tech landscape:

  • Cluster – Streamlining pharmaceutical supply chains through a dedicated health-tech platform.
  • Mystery Bag – Reducing food waste and unsold inventory via smart redistribution.
  • Converse2Note – Using AI to transform doctor-patient consultations into structured, coded medical records.
  • Coccarohome – Connecting women artisans directly with consumers for authentic, handmade home décor.
  • Sportyano – A digital hub for sports talent discovery, academy management, and contract facilitation.
  • LRNOVA – Enabling the creation of high-quality educational content with AI-powered tools.
  • TANKER – Monitoring and managing fleet fuel consumption with a digital system.
  • eDariba – Simplifying tax compliance for SMEs, freelancers, and accountants, in line with Egypt’s digital transformation.

With an expanded funding package, more robust cloud resources, and deeper ecosystem support, Start IT continues to position itself as a key launchpad for Egypt’s most promising tech innovators, and a vital pillar in the country’s shift toward a knowledge-driven economy.
