du and Hassantuk Strengthen AI Safety Tech at GITEX 2025

du and Hassantuk expand their AI partnership at GITEX 2025 to transform UAE public safety with predictive, real-time smart technology and IoT innovation.

When you walk through the halls of GITEX Global, it’s hard not to feel the buzz, that electric hum of innovation that seems to pulse through Dubai every October. This year, du and Hassantuk have taken centre stage with a partnership expansion that could reshape how public safety works across the UAE.

I wasn’t surprised to see their announcement draw attention, after all, when you mix a telecom powerhouse with a smart safety platform backed by AI expertise, sparks are bound to fly.

So, what’s all the fuss about? In essence, du is teaming up more deeply with Core42’s Hassantuk platform, moving beyond its original fire alarm remit into broader safety tech. Think real-time facility monitoring, food safety compliance, and predictive emergency response,  all powered by IoT sensors and artificial intelligence.

That’s a serious leap from simple “detect and alert” systems to an era where hazards can be foreseen and prevented before they ever become a crisis.

Jasim Al Awadi, du’s Chief ICT Officer, described the UAE as “at the brink of a technological revolution” and honestly, he’s spot on. The goal is to build smart buildings that can self-report air quality, occupancy, or structural stress, feeding live data back through connected networks.

The upgrade extends to food outlets, enabling live hygiene and temperature tracking that keeps kitchens and supply chains in check. It’s not easy aligning all that tech, but when it clicks, it prevents costly safety failures before they ever make headlines.

Over at Core42, Yousef Al Harmoodi, the company’s Chief Business Development Officer, said du’s tech muscle will reinforce Hassantuk’s AI and IoT backbone, keeping the UAE at the forefront of digital safety innovation.

It’s a partnership that fits perfectly within the UAE’s Smart City vision , scalable, integrated, and forward-looking. The system could even tie into future civic services, from energy monitoring to emergency management.

From what I’ve seen covering the MENA tech scene for Arageek, these kinds of public-private alliances signal something bigger. It’s not just about innovation anymore — it’s about making infrastructure responsive, even “alive.”

As regional governments double down on smart governance and digital-first living, this model of predictive safety could become the blueprint for other Gulf cities.

Of course, predictive safety sounds great on paper,  but rolling it out at scale takes grit, investment, and seamless integration. Still, if any team can pull it off, it’s du and Core42: one with the network reach, the other with the AI brains.

As GITEX 2025 wraps up, this collaboration feels less like corporate fanfare and more like a glimpse of how the UAE will manage everyday safety — quietly, intelligently, and ahead of time.

If that’s where the future is heading, then the UAE is definitely walking the smart talk.
