Dubai CommerCity (DCC), the MENA region’s first free zone dedicated exclusively to digital commerce, is stepping up its game. The zone has announced fresh strategic partnerships with qeen.ai and Portmind to drive the next phase of e-commerce growth in the UAE.
The collaboration with qeen.ai aims to fuse DCC’s advanced digital commerce infrastructure with cutting-edge AI solutions. Together, they plan to create a future-focused ecosystem supporting SMEs and fast-growing brands by enhancing intelligent automation, streamlining digital sales, and managing AI-driven customer experiences more effectively.
Mitch Bittermann, Senior Vice President – Commercial at Dubai CommerCity, emphasized the significance of the partnership, “By integrating intelligent automation and agentic AI solutions into our ecosystem, we are enhancing the competitiveness of e-commerce businesses and contributing to a thriving AI-driven economy that attracts global talent and investment.”
Adding to the momentum, Dina Alsamhan, Co-founder & CBO of qeen.ai, highlighted the synergy, “DCC enables market access and qeen.ai provides the intelligence layer that drives next-level performance.”
Both announcements were made during Dubai AI Week, held from April 21–25, reflecting the city’s broader ambition to lead globally in AI and digital innovation.
CommerCity Gets Smarter Customs with Portmind’s AI-Powered Solutions
Dubai CommerCity’s partnership with Portmind targets another crucial pillar of e-commerce: logistics and compliance. Using Portmind’s Sail platform, businesses operating within the free zone will now benefit from AI-driven automation in customs and shipping processes.
This integration aims to drastically improve efficiency by automating data collection, validation, classification, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Julien Gurunlian, Founder and CEO of Portmind, explained the impact: “This partnership allows us to enable smarter, faster customs workflows that drive compliance, reduce costs, and enhance trade transparency, benefiting businesses across the DCC ecosystem.”
This move couldn’t be more timely. The UAE’s e-commerce market is expected to soar past AED48.8 billion by 2028, according to recent reports from the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy.
With initiatives like these, Dubai is clearly cementing its role as a global hub for digital commerce and next-generation AI-driven trade.
DCC, a joint venture between the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ) and Wasl Properties, continues to position itself at the heart of Dubai’s vision for a tech-forward, AI-powered economic future.
