HalaBag Unveils Saudi Baggage Tech Aggregator

HalaBag has introduced what it claims to be Saudi Arabia’s first baggage logistics aggregator, targeting the global $20 billion baggage-handling industry. Its asset-light model leverages existing airport infrastructure and outsourced logistics, enabling rapid scaling with lower capital expenditure while focusing on operational leverage.

Its technology platform supports real-time tracking, digital verification, and collaboration with key industry players such as Saudi Airlines and ground handling providers. The system is also tested in high-stress environments, such as Hajj and Umrah, where operational complexity is extreme.

The venture was built out of Sinayah Venture Studio, which specialises in supply chain tech. As the founder, Amar Alameer put it, “HalaBag is not just a logistics service; it is a technology-driven venture … that capitalizes on the global transformation of the travel industry.”

HalaBag offers full end-to-end luggage services from delayed-bag delivery (within three hours) to handling left-behind baggage, and land check-in, allowing travelers to focus on their journey rather than their suitcases. To date, it has processed over 70,000 bags, served 30,000 travelers, and expanded operations across 20 Saudi cities.

Saudi Arabia processes nearly 200 million bags a year, a sizable market with over 120 million annual passengers. With global baggage mishandling still costing airlines about $5 billion annually despite advances in technology, the opportunity for improvement is large.

HalaBag is currently fundraising to scale into more airports, add international baggage transfer, and launch ancillary services. It also recently joined the Saudi Tourism.
