HUMAIN, AMD Partners in $10 Billion AI Infrastructure Push

HUMAIN, AMD Partners in $10 Billion AI Infrastructure Push

Newly launched Saudi AI firm HUMAIN has entered a multi-year strategic partnership with Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) to jointly invest $10 billion in AI infrastructure development over the next five years, the companies announced Tuesday.

The initiative will see Humain spearhead the design and development of next-generation data centers, sustainable energy systems, and high-capacity fiber-optic connectivity to support massive AI workloads, both domestically and internationally.

AMD, in turn, will provide:

  • High-performance AI accelerators and chips optimized for both training and inference
  • A full software stack to manage the operations of cutting-edge AI data centers

Building a Global AI Backbone

The partnership will facilitate the creation of a distributed network of AI data centers, stretching from Saudi Arabia to the United States, marking a bold step in the Kingdom’s ambition to become a global AI hub.

These facilities will support applications ranging from large language model (LLM) training to sector-specific AI deployments in areas like healthcare, finance, and manufacturing.

The move builds on Humain’s recent mega-deal with Nvidia, revealed earlier this week, making it one of the most capitalized AI infrastructure players globally.

Fully owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), Humain has been tasked with transforming Saudi Arabia into a leader in AI, focusing on foundational models, sovereign infrastructure, and international collaboration.

AMD Scales Up AI Ambitions

For AMD, the partnership represents a significant step in its competitive push into the AI chip market, long dominated by Nvidia.

By working directly with sovereign clients like Humain, AMD is expanding its AI customer base beyond U.S. hyperscalers such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services.

“This collaboration with Humain allows us to demonstrate the scalability and power of AMD AI accelerators in some of the most demanding and globally distributed environments,” said an AMD spokesperson.

“It’s a natural alignment of capabilities and ambition.”

Strategic Context: AI as National Infrastructure

The partnership also aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which emphasizes digital transformation and economic diversification.

With substantial capital from PIF, and strategic partnerships with U.S. technology firms, the Kingdom is positioning AI as a critical pillar of its post-oil future.

Humain’s leadership has emphasized that its infrastructure strategy is not just about national sovereignty but also about contributing meaningfully to global AI capacity.

This includes open collaboration, IP creation, and expanding the availability of AI compute to underserved regions.
