iBLOXX Studios Raises $5.4M for StrayShot Launch

UAE-based iBLOXX Studios raised $5.4M to support the global launch of StrayShot, a blockchain-enabled multiplayer mobile game with cross-platform plans.

iBLOXX Studios has secured $5.4 million in funding to finalize development and prepare the global launch of its upcoming mobile title, StrayShot.

The investment will support marketing, distribution, live-service operations, and ongoing content updates as the studio positions the game for long-term engagement and international scale.

Founded in 2021 by CEO Domenik Maier, iBLOXX Studios focuses on multiplayer, mobile-first gaming experiences with integrated blockchain features designed for a global audience.

While StrayShot is launching as a mobile-first title, the studio plans to expand the game to console platforms, signaling a broader ambition to establish the franchise as a cross-platform live-service ecosystem rather than a single-release product.

“This funding positions us to deliver StrayShot as a live-service title that combines high-quality gameplay with genuine digital ownership for the player community,” said Domenik Maier, CEO of iBLOXX Studios.

StrayShot is a third-person multiplayer shooter set in the fictional Sierra Verde region. Players compete as mercenaries in modes including Battle Royale, Team Deathmatch, and Extraction. The game is currently in closed testing ahead of a wider rollout.

A defining feature of the title is its integrated blockchain infrastructure, enabling verifiable ownership of selected in-game assets. Players can securely trade or transfer these digital items, creating a player-driven economy within the game environment. The model aligns with the industry’s growing focus on digital ownership and alternative monetization strategies.

The game is optimized to run on low-end devices, increasing accessibility in emerging markets where high-performance hardware is less common. This mobile-first strategy reflects strong growth trends across the Middle East, Africa, and parts of Asia, where smartphone adoption continues to outpace traditional console and PC gaming.

The funding round comes as the UAE strengthens its position as a regional hub for gaming, blockchain, and Web3 development, attracting studios aiming for both regional impact and global reach.

Why iBLOXX Studios Matters to MENA

This reflects a deeper shift in the region’s gaming ecosystem: MENA is no longer just a consumer market; it’s becoming a production hub.

By building a mobile-first, blockchain-integrated title optimized for lower-end devices, iBLOXX is targeting high-growth emerging markets where smartphone penetration outpaces console adoption. This aligns closely with gaming demand across the Middle East, Africa, and parts of Asia.

For the UAE, the deal reinforces its positioning as a regional center for gaming and Web3 development. With increasing support for creative industries and digital ownership models, studios like iBLOXX signal the country’s ambition to export original intellectual property rather than rely solely on imported titles.

More broadly, the funding underscores how live-service gaming and digital asset ownership are reshaping monetization strategies, and how MENA-based developers are beginning to compete on a global stage.
