Oracle came in strong at GITEX Africa 2025, spotlighting its deep commitment to the continent and the wider MENA region. With new cloud investments, a growing AI strategy, and talent development programs, the tech giant made it clear that its future is tightly linked with Africa’s digital growth.
“This is the third year for Oracle at GITEX, and we’re thrilled to be back,” said Alessio Bagnaresi, Vice President of AI Technology.
“As you’ve probably noticed from our booth, we have a significant presence here in Africa and the UAE… a great platform to connect government institutions, private sector players, startups, and really bring the ecosystem together.”
The company is investing heavily in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), with new data centers on the way in Morocco and Kenya. South Africa is already home to one live center. These hubs aim to support the region’s fast-evolving digital infrastructure needs, offering businesses localized, secure, and scalable cloud services.
Oracle is also introducing a unique approach to cloud delivery. By allowing regional telecoms and tech companies to host and sell OCI themselves, data stays closer to home, streamlining deployment while aligning with local compliance needs.
Morocco at the Heart of Oracle’s AI and Talent Strategy
Artificial intelligence is front and center in of the company’s strategy. Bagnaresi noted, “We take a very holistic approach to AI. We offer a fully verticalized platform, from AI-embedded business applications down to world-class AI infrastructure powered by GPUs from our partners like NVIDIA and AMD.”
The company is focused on democratizing AI adoption, enabling everyone from business leaders to engineers to leverage the tools without needing deep technical expertise.
But it’s not just about technology, it’s also about talent. Oracle is scaling up its Advanced Research & Development Centre in Morocco, with plans to hire 1,000 graduates from local universities. “Moroccan minds helping to build solutions for the world,” Bagnaresi emphasized.
In parallel, Oracle’s internship program boasts a 94% conversion rate into full-time jobs, and the Oracle Academy is actively upskilling students and developers across Africa, providing hands-on experience with real tools used in global markets.
With Morocco fast becoming a regional hub for digital innovation, Oracle’s ramped-up presence shows just how central the Kingdom and the broader MENA region are to the company’s long-term vision.
