Meta Platforms, Inc. and EssilorLuxottica have officially introduced the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses to the United Arab Emirates, unveiling the innovative eyewear during an exclusive event on May 7 at Gitano Beach Club in Dubai.
This launch marks the beginning of a month-long activation at the venue, running until June 5, featuring branded experiences and showcasing the fusion of fashion and technology.
Starting today, May 12, the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses will be available at all Ray-Ban stores and partner opticians across the UAE.
Ray-Ban Smart Features Built for Daily Life
The Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses offer a range of advanced features designed to enhance everyday experiences:
- Discreet Open-Ear Speakers: Deliver high-quality audio while maintaining awareness of ambient sounds.
- Five Built-In Microphones: Enable seamless switching between music and calls, ensuring users stay connected to their surroundings.
- Hands-Free Photo and Video Capture: Allow users to create ultra high-quality content from a first-person perspective.
- Livestreaming Capabilities: Users can broadcast directly to Instagram Live or Facebook Live for up to 30 minutes, with the option to toggle between phone and glasses cameras.
- Meta AI Integration: By saying “Hey Meta,” users can access voice assistance to ask questions, get local recommendations, translate signs, control smart features, and more.
- Live Translation Feature: Rolling out in the UAE later this spring, this feature enables real-time translation across Spanish, French, Italian, and English, even in airplane mode.
The glasses are available in classic Wayfarer, Wayfarer Large, and Skyler styles, with modern finishes like Shiny Chalky Grey. Lens options include prescription, sun, clear, polarized, and Transitions.
Smart updates are delivered via regular software enhancements, ensuring the glasses evolve over time and deliver even more value to users.
