At the just concluded GITEX Africa 2025, Moroccan public financing institution Tamwilcom signed a major partnership with Flat6Labs, a leading startup accelerator in the MENA region. The goal? To supercharge Morocco’s entrepreneurial ecosystem with hands-on support, mentorship, and access to funding.
This new agreement builds on Tamwilcom’s existing collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), signed in December 2023. That roadmap focused on giving Moroccan startups, especially early-stage ventures, a stronger foundation to scale, both locally and globally.
“This partnership extends our institution’s efforts to support innovative Moroccan enterprises,” said Hicham Zanati Serghini, General Manager of Tamwilcom.
“Flat6Labs’ experience will bring added value to startups at a crucial stage of their growth, particularly in terms of fundraising and market expansion.”
With Flat6Labs at the helm, the program will cover everything from technical mentoring to financial planning and investor readiness—creating a full-circle support system for high-potential startups.
AgriTech to AI: Targeting High-Impact Sectors for a Digital Future
The partnership zeroes in on strategically important sectors—AgriTech, FinTech, GreenTech, Industry 4.0, digital health, artificial intelligence, and big data—that are critical to Morocco’s digital transformation goals and broader regional competitiveness.
“We aim to support high-impact startups by equipping them with the right growth tools and helping them build solid business models that attract investors and ensure long-term sustainability,” said Yahya Houri, Head of Programs at Flat6Labs.
The initiative also echoes the IFC’s commitment to fostering a healthier investment climate in the Maghreb.
David Tinel, IFC’s Regional Representative, commented: “Facilitating early-stage access to funding is a critical factor in driving innovation and private sector-led economic growth.”
Together, Tamwilcom, Flat6Labs, and IFC are laying the groundwork for a digitally-driven, innovation-led Moroccan economy, positioning the Kingdom as a key player in the MENA startup scene and beyond.
