Waed Ventures Leads $5m Funding Round for EME

Wa’ed Ventures has announced that it has led a $5 million Series A funding round in EME , a Dutch company specializing in sustainability and circular economy solutions .

The aim of this funding is to enable it to localize its advanced technologies in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and sustainable development goals. 

The funding also helps the company expand into new markets in the Middle East , contributing to accelerating the adoption of sustainable practices globally.

Eng. Anas Al-Qahtani, Acting CEO of Wa’ed Ventures, confirmed that this investment comes within the fund’s strategy to support startups that provide innovative solutions for sustainable infrastructure. 

He said: “The solutions provided by EME represent a qualitative shift in enhancing sustainability practices among companies, and we look forward to localizing these promising technologies within the Kingdom to contribute to building a more sustainable future.”

EME: A leading platform to reduce waste and promote the circular economy

EME was founded in 2017 to provide innovative solutions for companies to help them track and reuse surplus materials through a digital platform based on AI and IoT technologies.

The platform improves material flows and reduces carbon emissions; provides advanced solutions for high value recycling; and seeks to reduce waste and promote sustainability in corporate operations.

The EME platform combines IoT and AI technologies to analyze data and improve resource efficiency.

This partnership is a turning point for EME to enter the Middle East markets, as it will support it in expanding its regional customer base, launching new projects in Saudi Arabia, and promoting innovation in sustainability.
