In 2021, GitLab released its Remote Work Report revealing that 86% of remote workers believed asynchronous work or communication made them more productive. 

Meanwhile, some Middle Eastern companies were still scheduling back-to-back Zoom meetings and celebrating “availability” as a measure of commitment.
