Austria-based startup Chatlyn has raised approximately USD 9.3 million (EUR 8 million) in Series A funding to expand its AI-powered hotel communication platform.
The round was led by Smedvig Ventures, with participation from AnyDesk founder Andreas Burike, angel investor Mathias Hiebeler, and an innovation grant from FFG, Austria’s national research funding agency.
With the fresh capital, the platform aims to expand into the UAE and cement its position in the Middle East’s hospitality tech market.
The company’s long-term vision is to become “the AI brain for hotels,” building a system that supports operations, automates guest interactions, and boosts both revenue and satisfaction.
“We see huge potential in solving one of the hospitality industry’s biggest pain points, fragmented guest communication,” said Nicolas Vorsteher, CEO and co-founder of Chatlyn.
Chatlyn: Solving a $ Multibillion Communication Gap in Hotels
Chatlyn is tackling a critical gap in the hospitality sector: disconnected and inefficient communication systems. Most hotels juggle up to 12 guest messaging platforms, including WhatsApp, email, booking engines, and social media.
This disjointed setup leads to missed bookings, delayed replies, and frustrated guests and staff.
Founded in 2023 by Nicolas Vorsteher (CEO), Michael Urbanek (CTO), and Matthias Haubner (CPO), Chatlyn offers a centralized AI communications hub that streamlines all messaging channels into a single interface. Its features include:
- Integration with 10+ guest platforms (email, WhatsApp, SMS, webchat, etc.)
- AI-powered automation for guest responses
- Real-time translation in 35+ languages
- Seamless integration with hotel property management systems (PMS)
Driving Smarter, Global-Ready Hotel Operations
As digital transformation sweeps the hospitality sector, Chatlyn is positioning itself at the forefront of AI-enabled guest engagement. Its system not only simplifies communication workflows for staff but also maximizes upselling and loyalty through timely, personalized interactions.
“Chatlyn’s AI doesn’t just respond; it learns, adapts, and optimizes guest experience at scale,” said Vorsteher.
By targeting a growing need for intelligent, multilingual, and cross-platform guest messaging, Chatlyn is betting on becoming a backbone technology for modern hotel chains, especially in digitally ambitious markets like the UAE and broader MENA region.
