Saudi’s Mersal Media Capital Raises $1.3M to Launch Firm

Saudi-based Mersal Media Capital raises $1.3M to launch a media investment firm focused on monetising scalable digital media assets and creator-led platforms.

Saudi-based Mersal Media Capital has raised $1.33 million (SAR 5 million) in its initial funding round, led by a private investment fund, marking its formal entry into the region’s media investment space.

The capital will be used to support the firm’s early growth, strengthen operational readiness, and build partnerships focused on monetising digital media assets. Mersal Media Capital is positioning itself to address one of the region’s persistent challenges: unlocking value from underutilised content and media IP owned by digital creators and founders.

Founded by Anas Al Humaid and Abdulwahid Al Humaid, the firm focuses on scalable digital media assets rather than traditional media models. Its approach combines specialised capital with tailored operating strategies designed to help media businesses grow across platforms and geographies.

Mersal Media Capital aims to provide digital founders with an alternative funding route, enabling them to scale content platforms more efficiently while retaining long-term value. The firm believes that structured investment and active operational support can transform media assets into sustainable businesses.

The announcement was made on the sidelines of the Saudi Media Forum 2026, signalling growing investor interest in early-stage media opportunities. While media investment remains relatively underdeveloped in the region, rapidly shifting digital consumption trends are beginning to attract more focused capital and institutional attention.

Why Mersal Media Capital Matters to MENA

Media investment in MENA has lagged behind fintech and SaaS, despite rapid growth in digital content consumption. Mersal Media Capital’s launch signals a shift toward structured capital for creator-led and digital media businesses.

As regional audiences scale and platforms mature, specialized media investors could unlock long-term value from under-monetized content, offering founders new growth pathways beyond ads and brand deals.
