Dubai Honours Global AI Talent at Prompt Championship

Dubai has awarded top global AI talent at the Global Prompt Engineering Championship 2025, celebrating the intersection of art, code, and generative AI as a new creative frontier.

The finals were held during Dubai AI Week, with Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum presenting awards to winners across Art, Video, Gaming, and Coding.

The prompt engineering championship drew 3,800 entries from 125 countries, culminating in a two-day live final at AREA 2071 in Emirates Towers. Twenty-four finalists from 16 nations competed for a share of the AED 1 million prize pool.

Prompt engineering goes global and mainstream

“Prompt engineering has quickly become one of the most sought-after skills in the age of AI,” said Sheikh Hamdan, who also serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Dubai Future Foundation.

“Shaping the future of AI begins with empowering talent and giving them tools to innovate, create, and expand real-world applications for the benefit of humanity.”

He added: “The intersection of art, reasoning, and AI in this competition represents the kind of culture-forward innovation Dubai is proud to champion.”

The awards ceremony was attended by senior officials including Sheikha Latifa Bint Mohammed, Chairperson of Dubai Culture; Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Bin Mohammed; and Omar Sultan Al Olama, UAE Minister of State for AI and Deputy MD of Dubai Future Foundation.

Meet the winners: from Dubai to Damascus to Toronto

  • Coding: Abdulrahman Al Marzooqi (UAE), master’s student in Machine Learning at MBZUAI
  • Video: Ibrahim Hajjo (Syria), Senior Filmmaker at Hajjo Media
  • Gaming: Ibrahim Helmy (Canada), Senior Cloud Solutions Architect at Microsoft
  • Art: Yahya Kaddoura (Palestine), Architectural Designer and Associate Principal at Atkins

The competition was organised by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence, an initiative of the Dubai Future Foundation, with support from the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy.
