Oman’s Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion has announced that it will officially launch its Golden Residency program for investors on August 31, 2025, in a move designed to attract foreign capital, accelerate economic diversification, and strengthen the Sultanate’s position as a regional investment hub.
The program, which aligns with Oman Vision 2040, offers long-term residency to qualified investors and entrepreneurs, underscoring the government’s commitment to fostering a competitive and sustainable business environment.
A Triple Announcement
The launch will take place during an event titled “Sustainable Business Environment” at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Recreation in Salalah, held under the patronage of Dhofar Governor Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al-Said.
Alongside the Golden Residency program, the ministry will also unveil two other initiatives:
- Mujeedah Companies Initiative – targeting high-performing Omani firms with a tailored package of incentives and facilitations to boost competitiveness, enable regional and global expansion, and accelerate digital transformation.
- Digital Commercial Registration Transfer – a new service on the Invest Oman platform allowing ownership transfers through electronic authentication, reducing transaction time and costs while enhancing transparency.
Officials highlighted that the Golden Residency program, coupled with the new digital and corporate initiatives, represents a comprehensive effort to streamline business processes, empower local champions, and attract long-term international investors.
By creating a modern, digitally enabled investment ecosystem, Oman aims to reinforce its reputation as a stable and attractive gateway for global investors, while also enabling Omani businesses to scale beyond domestic markets.
