Saudi Arabia’s government-backed AI firm HUMAIN has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with U.S. chip giant Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. to jointly develop advanced AI data centers, hybrid AI inference solutions, and edge-to-cloud infrastructure in the Kingdom and beyond.
The MoU was formalized during the Saudi-U.S. Investment Forum held in Riyadh, coinciding with the official visit of U.S. President Donald Trump to Saudi Arabia as part of a broader regional tour that includes Qatar and the UAE.
Qualcomm Collaboration for a Next-Gen AI Ecosystem
Under the agreement, Humain and Qualcomm will collaborate on:
- Designing and building cutting-edge AI data centers in Saudi Arabia
- Developing scalable hybrid AI inference systems for both local and global markets
- Leveraging Qualcomm’s high-efficiency CPUs and edge AI platforms such as Snapdragon and Dragonwing
The initiative will accelerate the rollout of Humain’s AI cloud infrastructure, positioning Saudi Arabia as a regional hub for high-performance AI computing.
“This strategic partnership enables us to scale a robust, energy-efficient AI infrastructure that spans from hyperscale data centers to on-device intelligence,” the companies said in a joint statement.
Empowering Arabic AI at the Edge
As part of the collaboration, Humain’s Arabic Large Language Model (ALLaM), co-developed with the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA), will be integrated into Qualcomm’s edge devices.
This will allow low-latency, hybrid AI inference across sectors like smart cities, logistics, healthcare, and defense.
By embedding ALLaM into edge devices, Qualcomm and Humain aim to enhance real-time AI services that understand and generate Arabic, creating new applications tailored for regional markets.
Laying the Groundwork for a Saudi Semiconductor Ecosystem
Beyond infrastructure, the partnership supports Saudi Arabia’s vision to become a global semiconductor design hub. Qualcomm will work with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) to:
- Establish a local chip design center
- Contribute to the growth of the national semiconductor ecosystem
- Train Saudi engineering talent in advanced chip design
“This initiative reflects Saudi Arabia’s ambition to lead in digital innovation while creating high-value, knowledge-based job opportunities,” the statement added.
The deal marks another major milestone for HUMAIN, following its recent partnerships with Nvidia and AMD, as Saudi Arabia accelerates its push to become a global force in AI, semiconductors, and sovereign digital infrastructure.
