Saudi Arabia-based Impact46 has joined a $5 million pre-seed investment round in Spekter Games, a US-headquartered Web3 gaming startup.
The round, led by a16z Speedrun and London Venture Partners, marks a strategic push by Impact46 to support next-generation gaming companies bridging traditional play and blockchain rewards.
Spekter Games is pioneering a new wave of casual Web2-style arcade games with embedded, seamless Web3 incentives.
Its first title, Spekter Agency, is launching exclusively on Telegram, offering rogue-lite gameplay with passive blockchain rewards that don’t interrupt user experience.
Spekter Games: A Strategic Bet on Web3 Gaming
Impact46’s involvement reflects Saudi Arabia’s increasing focus on interactive entertainment and Web3 innovation.
The investment firm has been actively deploying capital into ventures that align with the Kingdom’s broader vision of digital transformation and youth-driven economic growth.
“Gaming is a high-impact sector that resonates with young, digital-native communities across MENA,” said a spokesperson from Impact46.
“Spekter Games’ approach—fusing Web3 capabilities without compromising gameplay—is the kind of innovation we believe can scale globally, and we’re excited to support their journey.”
Scaling Across Super Apps and Mobile
With support from Impact46 and other investors, Spekter Games plans to expand Spekter Agency across additional platforms, including other chat-based super apps and traditional mobile app stores like Google Play and the App Store.
Funds will also be used to develop the studio’s second title, as well as enhance its publishing and tech stack.
Founder and CEO Taehoon Kim (TK) said the company’s mission is to bring Web3-enhanced gaming to mainstream players, noting that most blockchain games today are either too complex or overly financialized.
“Our goal is to let Web3 quietly boost retention and engagement, while players focus on having fun.”
Saudi Arabia’s Growing Gaming Influence
Impact46’s bet on Spekter Games aligns with the Kingdom’s broader ambitions to become a global hub for gaming and digital content, as outlined in Saudi Vision 2030.
Recent moves by firms like the Savvy Games Group and increased venture capital interest in gaming and Web3 reflect this upward trajectory.
By backing Spekter Games, Impact46 reinforces Saudi Arabia’s growing reputation as a strategic partner in global gaming innovation, particularly in emerging categories like chat-native gameplay and passive blockchain rewards.
