MASAHA Raises $1.5M to Transform Gulf Tailoring with AI

MASAHA secures $1.5M in seed funding to digitise traditional GCC tailoring, launching AI tools and a revamped app — a boost for regional fashion-tech adoption.

MASAHA, the Kuwait-born platform aiming to modernise Gulf tailoring through AI and workflow automation, has closed its second seed round — securing $1.5 million in fresh funding.

The round drew in strategic contributions from Fifty Studios Holding, multiple angel investors, and legal oversight from Dr. Yaqoub Al-Sane’s office — signalling serious backing for fashion-tech innovation in a sector long considered resistant to digital change.

At the recent Nexus Conference, MASAHA unveiled a revamped app with improved user experience and a roadmap of new AI-driven features. These tools are designed to help tailors automate order management, minimise errors, and provide real-time updates to customers — a major improvement for services like thobe tailoring, where last-minute changes can be chaotic.

Key backers include Fifty Studios (as a technology partner), marketing-focused investor Waleed Al Sulaim, Green Company’s Mohammed Al Fahad, and angel investor Abdulmohsen Khaled Al Sane — a blend of capital, technical muscle and regional business know-how.

According to co-founder and CEO Faisal Al Qarnous, this funding round is a “validation” of MASAHA’s hybrid model — combining deep cultural craftsmanship with modern operational tools. He emphasised that new funding will speed up feature development and improve the overall experience for both customers and tailors.

Looking ahead, MASAHA plans a phased scale-up. The startup aims to expand across the Gulf, with broader regional rollout expected between 2026 and 2027. The goal: give tailors automated tools to run efficient workshops while preserving traditional craftsmanship — and help build a more scalable, digital-first fashion economy.

Why MASAHA Matters to MENA

  • Digitising traditional industries: MASAHA is helping bring the centuries-old tailoring sector into the digital era — a leap that could modernise a major livelihood for many craftsmen across the Gulf.
  • Boost for Fashion-Tech adoption: The raise reflects growing investor confidence in fashion-tech startups — a sign that MENA is ready to support more than just fintech or logistics, but also lifestyle tech rooted in culture.
  • New opportunities for craftsmen and SMEs: Automation tools and a digital platform mean tailors get better order management, improved efficiency, and access to a wider customer base — helping small workshops scale sustainably.
  • Cultural preservation through innovation: By combining AI/automation with traditional tailoring heritage, startups like MASAHA show that tech can support, rather than replace, cultural craftsmanship.

GCC-wide potential: With planned expansion across Gulf states, MASAHA could become a regional benchmark for how traditional sectors leverage tech — opening the door for similar moves in other heritage industries.
